Coming Soon To A Shopping Mall/Center Near You?

The NHL has plans to open shop on Sixth Avenue in New York, New York.

Even if it's successful enough to merit a franchise chain in most NHL cities, I am quite willing to bet that such a store will not come to Raleigh. Especially considering how the Canes' attempts at making The Eye into a chain with the Crabtree Valley Mall and Triangle Town Center locations practically failed miserably. ESPECIALLY the TTC one, which hardly ever had business every time I visited. With the exception of my very first visit, when people were high on the success of the 2002 Stanley Cup run, and were gearing up for 2002-03.

Crabtree Valley Mall, on the other hand, did fairly ok. They were around before the TTC location, and closed their doors after TTC, during the Great Lockout of 2004-05...TTC closing in the late Winter/early Spring of 2004.

I guess in a way I'm a little surprised that it has taken the NHL a long time to open an actual, physical store, as long as their online one has been around and all.
